The Power of Community: God’s Love in Action

When God is at the center, community becomes more than just a group of people—it becomes family. Today was a beautiful example of what happens when we come together in unity, love, and purpose. Lives were impacted, hope was restored, and seeds of change were planted.

God specializes in taking broken pieces and building something beautiful. He uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. No one is too lost, too broken, or too far gone for His grace. Today, we saw firsthand how faith, leadership, and love can transform not just individuals, but entire communities.

We give all the glory to God for what He is doing through OneHoodxWENS and beyond. This is more than a movement—it’s a divine assignment. And with Him leading the way, we know EVERYBODY WENS.

I want to take a moment to publicly express my gratitude and appreciation to my guy Anthony Clemons, owner of Bell Pepper in Hueytown, for blessing my organization, EverybodyWENS, with two cases of pizza to feed the kids in our after-school program in Avondale.

Anthony is a powerful example of breaking the stereotypes society places on Black men. I remember when bro first opened Bell Pepper back in 2019, and it’s been incredible to witness the growth and success he’s achieved since then. From where he started to where he is now, the progress is truly inspiring.

To all the local schools and organizations out there, make sure to tap in with my guy at Bell Pepper in Hueytown! Let’s continue to support Black excellence and community-driven businesses like his. Thank you again, Anthony, for your generosity and for pouring back into the community. Keep shining, bro!

Yesterday was an amazing day for EverybodyWENS’ first Christmas event! It was filled with so much love, hope, and joy as we came together to celebrate and uplift the community. Seeing everyone connect and share in the holiday spirit was truly a blessing. This is just the beginning of what’s to come. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!

At EverybodyWENS, family is at the heart of everything we do. This Thanksgiving, we brought the community together with hot catered meals, arts and crafts, games, and free haircuts, spreading love, hope, and unity. Together, we’re building stronger families and brighter futures.”

I want to start by expressing my heartfelt love, gratitude, and affection to my Heavenly Father, who has shown me unwavering mercy and grace. I’m also deeply thankful to each and every one of you who have generously contributed your time, resources, and support to make our inaugural Thanksgiving event a resounding success. Your kindness and generosity have made a tangible difference in the lives of others, and I’m honored to share this experience with all of you.

We gathered yesterday together celebrating the start of a new era and the opportunities it brought. We acknowledged that our true strength and wisdom came from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He guided us, directed us, and empowered us to reach our full potential. We trusted in His plan and provision for our lives.
In the midst of our community, something remarkable happened. We experienced at this event with:
- No fights
- No drama
- No police presence
Instead, we saw:
- Love
- Respect
- Support
- Encouragement
- Unity
We believed in ourselves, worked hard, and never gave up on our dreams, knowing that God was with us every step of the way. We surrounded ourselves with positive influences and supportive peers who shared our values.
We made last year unforgettable! We strove for excellence, pushed beyond limits, and achieved greatness for His glory!
May the lessons and blessings of this event continue to inspire and guide us this year, as we strive to maintain a community built on love, respect, and support…. “When We Come Together EverybodyWens”

I thank Coach Jones for inviting me to speak to the Paul W. Bear Bryant High School Football team before their first game tonight. He asked me to share on the word ‘Favor,’ which is deeply personal for both of us. Our lives, and where we are now, are a testament to God’s favor. This opportunity isn’t based on my degree, resume, experience, or social status, but solely on His blessing. I recognize many others may have been more qualified,but favor has been placed on my life. Through His grace, God broke me down to build me back up for this moment. Remember, favor isn’t earned; it’s given. While we can’t control when it arrives, we can prepare ourselves to receive it.

“I’m speechless and in tears as I write this. I remember starting my journey, thinking it would be easy, especially after all the good I had done for others. But the same people I helped turned their backs on me, leaving me feeling ignored and alone. There were many days and nights when I cried, feeling like everyone had abandoned me. But God placed people in my life, like @drewdebter, whom I met when he was working as a valet at our club. I always showed him respect, love, and support, without knowing his situation. Men’s ministry is essential because it provides a space for men to connect with other men who are going through similar life experiences. It helps to break down the barriers of isolation and loneliness that many men face in today’s society. Through men’s ministry, men can receive the support and encouragement they need to become the men that God has called them to be.

I don’t have the credentials but my Pastor told me once you follow God 1 Corinthians 2:9, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” So I got the call about weeks ago from the program director of engagement of communities Clifford Kennon of The University of UAB At Birmingham to be a special guest on this panel to bring a light to my our community so if you have any questions, ideas, solutions etc DM and I will be sure to bring it up and I want to give a huge s/o to my bro @gilberto__herrera
